An absolute hip-hop icon turns 57 today. You know Fab 5 as the first official host of Yo! MTV Raps. But he’s so much more than that. He’s a legendary graffiti writer. He helped hip-hop expand in to film. He starred in “Wild Style”. And most important, he helped take hip-hop out of the South Bronx in to lower Manhattan. Which was absolutely crucial to hip-hop becoming the global force it is today. Salute Fred.
